MY BODY - MY CHOICE

’ The Creator has created two creations man and woman in order to make society function properly. Both have their own responsibilities according to their capabilities and together they make the peaceful life a reality. Both man and woman deserve equal respect in their respective domains. Western feminism actually denies this human reality. First of all let’s be clear that feminism and rights of women are different issues. E.g. to give education to women is not feminism but it is a right of women; to abolish the cruel ‘Sati’ practice is not feminism but it is a right of women; inheritance of property is also a right of women. A woman can hold positions of authority in work place as Hazrat Khadijah (RdA) had and can choose her own husband under Islamic law, these are also among the rights of women. Islam gave these rights and more to women 1400 years ago. Western feminism is a dangerous and irrational one. It says women should be liberated from the tedious hum-drum of babies, bottl...

Every building has pillars through which it remains stand. If pillars are weak, whole construction is at risk,it break downs at any time. If pillars are strong, construction will be strong enough. To build a building, first we should built strong pillars.  Islam too has some basic pillars. Prophet said, there are five basic pillars of islam. Testimony, prayer, charity, fasting and pilgrimage. There is a big MIs conception among people that following these five pillars is only islam. But islam is a complete code of life. It involves economical, political, social and all issues of life.  If we strictly follow these five pillars,it will make easy for us to build our character building according to the laws of Quran. Because all these pillars actually trains us for a big mission.  Piligrimage(hajj or umrah)is one of the best training period for us. This worship teaches us big lessons. It teaches us how to get close to our god,how to strive and struggle for the pleasure of Al...

Sacred family

what is family?family means such members which gives peace, support, comfort,to each other in every condition whether good or bad. We human beings are called as social beings because we need people with whom we can live, share enjoy every moment of our life. Family is a blessing but without supporting each other ,it will become a place of painful hell ,hard to survive. Only walls of home or its decoration or money or all materialistic things do not bring peace. Peace acquires when both the members follow the path of peace I. E Islam and supports each other in this divine path as did Hazrat hajirah may Allah be pleased with her. Prophet Abraham had a great mission and see how his wife gaves him full support. Even she agreed to stayed alone in the desert with her toddler son ismaeel and never complained him about anything. In such critical conditions how she built her son. How that small child prepared himself for sacrifice for god’s will. That was actually the spirit of his divin...

Why worship of fertility symbols

Most people worship fertility symbols for centuries, but never ponder over it where this worship came from in their religions .Lets, discuss today its origin. It is not only Hindus which worship fertility symbols but in ancient times almost all countries worship this fertility deity.Symbols of fertility in ancient mythology have a history as long as the creation of first myths.Primarily, the myths were about description of the worlds creation. They depicted how the trees, the man,the sun,and all the other things came into existence. This part of the mythology belonged to the time in which the man was bewildered and frightened in the expansive world and wanted to give meaning to the extensive environment around him. However, with the progress of science and rationality, less attention was allocated to this part of the mythology.Today,to validate new discoveries,a return to mythological roots is required.Throughout the study of mythology of ancient civilisations,we understand that most of m...

Modesty (Haya).

Allah says, “And it is not for a believing man or believing woman to have any choice in their affairs when Allah and His Messenger decided a matter; and whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, indeed he has strayed a manifest straying.” Al-Ahzab. So, for a believing woman too her sole source of guidance is Quran and Sunnah.    Modesty “Haya” is one of the most significant factors of a woman’s personality. The word “Haya” is derived from the word “Al-Haya” which means life as if the person who has no Haya (modesty) is like a dead person. It is only Haya which keeps us ethically and spiritually alive. What is Haya? The idea of Haya has been almost exclusively attached to woman’s dress; however it is actually a bigger issue. It is one of the most important factors that keep a person away from committing a sinful act. There are two aspects of Haya; “Natural Haya and Acquired Haya”. The latter is attached as a result of knowing and realizing...

Husband / Wife Relationship

Abu Hurayrah (RdA) said, “It was asked to Messenger of Allah (PBUH); which of the woman is best? He said “The one who makes (her husband) happy when he looks at her, obeys him when he tells her to do something, and does not disobey him with regard to herself or her wealth in a way he dislikes.” Al-Nasaai. The hadith proves the importance of a husband in the life of a wife. However, Islam also tells us the importance and rights of the wife in the life of a husband. Marriage is not just a physical or emotional necessity, but, in fact, a sign from Creator towards a broader objective. It is a relationship of mutual rights and obligations based on divine guidance; a legal contract between a man and a woman. Islam, unlike other religions is a strong advocate of marriage and there is no place for celibacy like the Roman Catholic priests & nuns. The Prophet (PBUH) said, “There is no celibacy in Islam.” He said, “Marriage is my tradition; whosoever keeps away t...

Message of Ramzan

Allah says, “O you who believe fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you that you may become righteous’’ (Al Baqarah). The purpose of Ramzan (fasting) is to develop the quality of ‘taqwa’ inwardly and outwardly by abstaining from sinful deeds and training ourselves to control our thoughts and desires. The word ‘taqwa’ comes from the root meaning ‘to guard’ and it is variously translated as mindfulness, righteousness and God fearing piety. Fasting acts as a shield which protects us from sin and ultimately from the punishment of Allah in the hereafter Ramzan is a tremendous gift from Allah in so many ways. The message of Ramzan is that we are not just body but we are body and soul. During Ramzan we deprive the body to uplift the soul. Its message is that we should remember that we are each and every time under the eyes of Allah. Ramzan teaches us a way of life which leads us closer to our Creator. It teaches us how to follow the ord...
